Web hosting

GreenNet offers a web hosting service which allows you to build a web site for the widest internet audience. All GreenNet websites are hosted on high performance Linux/Apache servers on the Internet backbone. These servers support PHP and CGI scripting and MySQL databases. The search engine is Ht://Dig. All GreenNet hosted websites come with the following features as standard:

FTP Access

Most GreenNet members manage their own pages. When you order Web space, we open an account for you on our Web server so that you can directly upload your site and further updates. You are responsible for your own site construction.

Mailback forms

A standard mailback form is provided in the Web Support Area which you can download and customise to your organisation’s needs.

Members Directory Listing

Organisations with Web sites on GreenNet are featured in our Directory of Member Organisations.

Site Statistics

You will have access to a page of information summarising statistics of your site. The statistics are generated using webalizer and awstats

Site Searching

GreenNet hosting includes a search engine which can be customised to allow people to easily search your WWW pages.

CGI scripts

All of our web servers are optimised for PHP programming. If you require CGI support please indicate this in your application form.

Prices

GreenNet’s packages come with varying allowances of web space as follows:

• Home Activist – 100MB
• Home Activist Plus – 100MB
• Small Group – 200 MB
• Organisational – 500 MB
• Maxi – 1024 MB (or 1 GB)

The following table shows the annual (p.a) rates for additional webspace, along with what that means in terms of price per MB and price per GB for the different quantities.
