On June 18th remember...

The Police are our Friends

• They will be blocking traffic, closing roads and generally causing more chaos than we could ever dream of.
• They will be rude, aggressive and sporadically violent. Many of them will be dressed to intimidate in robocop gear. This will be a highly educative eye-opener for many City workers from the suburbs and tourists who have never seen the police behaving like this before. You'd be surprised how many people think the usual police abuses and bigotry are just lefty propaganda and don't really happen.
• They will be donating lots of money to fund the next big action. A substantial slice of the funding for June 18th was kindly donated by the Metropolitan Police following events in 1997. It works like this:
  • They arrest you for nothing at all
  • You sue them
  • They settle out of court for piles of wonga
  To do this, you need good legal back-up from the start. So make sure you get the bust card beeing distributed by the Legal Defence and Monitoring Group and know the number to ring.
