Help out on a 1 year natural history / environmental project (Embrace Woodlands!) starting in September 2009. Run by Embrace Cooperation Ltd registered not for profit company, which supports young adults into education and employment. This project is run in partnership with environmental conservation charity Trust for Urban ecology (TRUE) website : http://www.urbanecology.org.uk/index.html The project will focus on traditional woodland crafts, environmental conservation, increase awareness of, and encourage participants to maintain and preserve the Dulwich Upper Wood (London) nature reserve site for future generations. The project will include the following woodland crafts and environmental conservation techniques: * Wildlife Surveys / Walks * Small Tree Felling / Coppicing * Hedge Laying * Dead Hedge Creation And Maintenance * Traditional Wooden Fencing * Glade Maintenance * Wildlife Pond Maintenance Volunteers will also have the opportunity to help develop & research new Embrace community media (video / photography) and environmental projects. The volunteer’s role will be tailor made to when they are available and which areas of the project they wish to be involved in.
