Every year at Zimfest time, thousands get together to celebrate their love for Zimbabwe. In defiance of losing what it means to be Zimbabwean, every year we make Zimfest bigger and better. This year there’s a kaleidoscopic program of Zimbabwean music, sport, food and culture, headlined by the Godfather of Zimbabwe Music…Oliver Mutukudzi.
It is important to remember that ALL Zimfest proceeds are ploughed back into projects that support the youth of Zimbabwe and victims of the current situation, via WEZIMBABWE, the charity that organises Zimfest.
Local non-profit Growing Home will offer its annual Harvest Celebration at the Les Brown Memorial Farm in Marseilles, IL. Enjoy refreshments, live music, cooking demonstrations, and chatter about local food with Dennis Ryan and Megan Munitz of Fraiche Kitchen. There will be activities for kids and guided tours of our 10-acre certified organic farm. Come learn about our non-profit job training program for needy Chicagoans while enjoying fresh organic produce and a day on the farm.

At a technical level GreenNet members operate as a network of ‘client’ computers all connected to a central server that lets them communicate with each other, and prompt actions in different points on the network.
But the tag cloud below gives a more interesting perspective on the voices and issues that are connected through the services we provide. Click on the tags to journey through the network of resources, projects, stories and campaigns from throughout the GreenNet community of people working for peace, the environment, gender equality and human rights. You’ll find alternative news headlines from the archives as well as interactive spaces to post events and job vacancies.
