If anyone is looking for a secure client for accessing ssh sites and performing routine maintenance then I'd recomend Winscp. It's available here http://winscp.sourceforge.net/eng/ and I've been using it for a number of years without many problems.

For ftp under MS windows try Filezilla:

supports sftp as well as ftp thought it is larger download.

It isn't proprietary software like WS-FTP but free (as in freedom) software, which means the software will be developed in interests of users.
