Hi there,

My computer tells me lies and says it is sending e-mails when it isn't!
The little curved blue arrow is going out of the box as if it is sending an e-mail but the green bar isn't going across the screen. When I check the "status" button in the bottom right corner nothing is moving! What is going on here?

Re: sending e-mails

This could be caused by a list of things. From your description I guess you are using Outlook Express. It might help to go to and update to the latest version of Outlook Express and Internet Explorer.

Secondly, your anti virus program could be causing this problem. Check your account settings by clicking on Tools|Accounts and click on the Email tab. Double click on the line with the GreenNet account (usually this starts with pop.gn.apc.org) and click on the Servers tab. Make sure that you Incoming mail(POP3) is set to pop.gn.apc.org and your Outgoing mail(SMTP) is set to smtp.greennet.org.uk.

In the lower section your Account name should be only the username before the @gn.apc.org in your email address. Untick both Log on using Secure Password Authentication and My server requires authentication.
