Re: lost mails

There are many reasons an incoming email could bounce back to the sender. To help us trace where the problem might be, please send as much detail as you can to support@gn.apc.org; especially useful if it has happened in the last 7 days is the sender's email address and the date of the message. We can then see if the message was ever passed on to our servers, and if so, if it bounced.

We do block some sender addresses that seem to be repeatedly abused by spammers. An example would be 'dsfsdkfks@yahoo.com'. Spammers do also sometimes use genuine addresses, and it is possible one of these might enter a blocklist unintentionally.

See also the discussion on greylisting http://phorum.greennet.org.uk/read.php?f=4&i=51&t=51 This has caused problems for some senders whose ISPs are running faulty mail transfer agents.

We also use dirtylists such as SpamCop and SORBS, but do not reject mail based on them, just add a spam header if appropriate.
