I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird for email, and can vouch for it. Much better than Outlook and Outlook Express, and it's not subject to any of the viruses that Outlook is such a target for.

I currently have outlook express, although it's stopped working after I uninstalled norton antivirus and installed avast antivirus, so I now have to use an external mail server as express just crashes.
I'm aware there are lots of problems with express and am looking for a good free email handling program to replace it
