If I try and send any message to any gn.apc.org address I get a protocol error message
command sent was RCPT to
"550 cannot find address in system"
This means that I cannot sent messages to our greenet hosted email list.
Please explain why this is.
Thank you

Dear Madeleine
This is an unusual problem that maybe indicates some (intermittent?) problem
with your ISP looking up the domain 'gn.apc.org'. Assuming the email
address you are sending to are spelled correctly, it may need further
investigation with Netscalibur/dircon.
In fact, it would probably be best to check with them first, and ask them to
contact us directly if need be. However, you may find the message has since
disappeared.
I'm getting the same problem. Thunderbird is telling me:
An error occured while sending mail. The mail server responded: : Recipient address rejected: Domain not found. Please verify that your email address is correct.
I've tried a different SMTP server and getting similar results. There appears to be a temporary problem with your DNS records.
Michael.
Hi Michael
There were some problems with the APC.ORG domain starting yesterday caused by a misconfiguration of the APC name servers in Brazil. This randomly affected ISPs. It is now fixed at the source, so should be OK very soon.
If you are still having problems. please try sending to username@greennet.org.uk instead.
Thanks

As a reminder, this forum is principally for current or potential GreenNet members and the people they work or communicate with. If you have no connection with GreenNet, please try to contact your service provider, although that may be difficult if it is Hotmail or BT as in Abbi's case.
As a second reminder, the quickest way to get help on any technical problem is to quote any error message like the people above have done; in addition you can describe exactly what software you are using and what steps you take.
