Down but not defeated...	Civil society groups gathered in Tunis, disappointed by the setback in their quest to wrest control of Internet governance from the United States, are vowing to make the best of the deal that was struck.
Finally an ICT Minister for Kenya.	The Kenyan government has finally appointed a information and communications minister - moving from the tradition where the ICT sector was managed under different ministries.
Internet bill of rights proposed.	A bill of rights for the internet age has been proposed at the UN Internet Governance Forum in Athens. Jinbonet launches online guide for Human Rights in the Information Society.	Korean Progressive Network 'Jinbonet' launched an online Guide to Human rights in the Information society on December 10th, 2003, the 55th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Repressive countries gain foothold before World Summit on Information Society.	Several countries that have harshly cracked down on Internet use have been involved in preparatory meetings in advance of next year’s summit (WSIS).
The call for the defence of all the gender equality is imperative.
The final (resumed) WSIS prepcom begins this morning, Dec 5th.	Governments will continue to try to reach concensus on 5 main issues owhich remain contentious and unresolved, between now and the beginning of the Summit, Dec 10th. Read the opening plenary statement from Civil Society here.
