A march will go from Oxleas Wood to Blackheath on June 9, starting at 2pm. Some trade unions will also be getting involved and there will be a variety of activities along what is planned as a peaceful demonstration.
Greenwich and Bexley Trades Council (GBTC) has been strongly opposed to the plans for months and have joined forces with the Lewisham Stop The War Coalition and Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
GBTC’s Dave Putson said: “The only thing this is good for is PR – to show off the missiles.
“We’re going to write to Bexley and Greenwich councils to ask why they have been silent on the matter when their council tax paying residents are being placed at risk by this unsolicited government action.”
