Many disabled people in Tower Hamlets are worried about changes to services, benefits, housing and social care. Come along to our Local Voices workshop to talk about your concerns, meet others facing the same issues and find solutions together.

We’re helping Tower Hamlets Council review their Disability Equality Scheme and the council wants to know how they can help the community during these tough times. The concerns and ideas you share at the workshop will be an important part of their plans.

It’s easy to get to Jack Dash House. The D3, D6 and D7 buses stop outside. There’s limited Blue Badge parking by the door and paid parking nearby.

A light lunch will be served. Please let us know if you have any access needs.

Farewell to Justice? The progressive loss of Civil Liberties in the UK

Since 2001, the civil liberties of British citizens have been progressively eroded. Among other examples, the Extradition Act (2003) allows individuals to be extradited to another country for actions that are not criminal in the UK, and without prima facie evidence of a case against them being presented in a British court. This Act can result in long periods of detention without charge (British citizens have been detained for up to eight years).
