Simulations and their role in Science?
A half day of training for primary
£55 for subscribers to Tower Hamlets Schools Library Service, or £75 per school

Wednesday 14th March 1.30pm to 4.30pm

Using a range of simulations to look at what they are, and how they can help learning about sustainability. Topics include building, transport, individual actions, planet survival, being an astronaut. It will look at using simulations and end with how to create simple simulations. Teachers will take away a guide on how to run simulation sessions, and will have a set of recommended website simulations.

Farewell to Justice? The progressive loss of Civil Liberties in the UK

Since 2001, the civil liberties of British citizens have been progressively eroded. Among other examples, the Extradition Act (2003) allows individuals to be extradited to another country for actions that are not criminal in the UK, and without prima facie evidence of a case against them being presented in a British court. This Act can result in long periods of detention without charge (British citizens have been detained for up to eight years).
