Join us for a day of learning and action to call for an audit of the UK’s debts. Fill in your details below to let us know you’re coming.

LEARN 11am
The origins of the UK’s dictator debts are mysterious, and so are the mechanisms that created them. Come along to our workshop to find out more.

LOBBY 3pm
Get to know other campaigners over lunch (on us!).
After lunch we’ll run through how to lobby your MP on this issue. Then we’ll all go together to parliament to talk to them in person. If you can’t come to London for this, but you would still like to lobby your MP, contact Maddy Evans on 020 7324 4728 or email maddy@jubileedebtcampaign.org.uk

Demonstrate 5pm

At the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS). It’s Halloween! So we’ll be asking

‘What debt skeletons are in the government’s closet?’. Vince Cable, based at BIS, oversees over 90% of the debt owed to the UK by developing countries. But the UK government has not even explained where many of these debts came from. We will demonstrate at BIS to call for an immediate debt audit. This will be a fun family-friendly event.

Since 2001, the civil liberties of British citizens have been progressively eroded. Among other examples, the Extradition Act (2003) allows individuals to be extradited to another country for actions that are not criminal in the UK, and without prima facie evidence of a case against them being presented in a British court. This Act can result in long periods of detention without charge (British citizens have been detained for up to eight years).
