Children learning about conflict resolution and justice through examples of children’s courts and restorative justice, and how they work.
You will learn about Janus Korczak’s democratic orphanage in the Warsaw Ghetto (part of Holocaust Memorial Day, January 27th 2012); the world famous democratic school Summerhill, and a Hull primary school, Collingwood, that is based on restorative justice.
The event is participative, with role play, debate, voting and discussions.

The workshop is lead by Michael Newman, a children’s rights expert and advocate, who has worked at Summerhill School for over 11 years, and has worked with the Jewish Museum Education Officer on Janus Korczak.
