A late addition to our events program, Housmans are very happy to announce that this Friday 29th March, Donald Nicholson Smith will be discussing his revised translation of Raoul Vaneigem's classic text ‘The Revolution of Everyday Life’. Donald joined the English section of the Situationist International in 1965 and was expelled in December 1967!

Please note Housmans will be closed on Friday 29th March, but will open from 6pm onwards in preperation for this event.

We're very easy to find - just a two minute walk from King's Cross/St.Pancras terminals. Housmans is at the bottom end of Caledonian Road where it meets with Pentonville Road. If you have any problems finding us, give us a call.

Farewell to Justice? The progressive loss of Civil Liberties in the UK

Since 2001, the civil liberties of British citizens have been progressively eroded. Among other examples, the Extradition Act (2003) allows individuals to be extradited to another country for actions that are not criminal in the UK, and without prima facie evidence of a case against them being presented in a British court. This Act can result in long periods of detention without charge (British citizens have been detained for up to eight years).
