10 March is Tibetan National Uprising Day, when Tibetans and supporters take to the streets to mark the anniversary of major protests in 1959 against China’s occupation of Tibet. This year’s protests are expected to be bigger than ever, as an expression of outrage against China’s repressive policies in Tibet, which have created a crisis in Tibet with over 100 Tibetans setting themselves on fire in protest.
The annual Tibetan Freedom March and Rally will take place in London on the 54th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising. We will gather at 11.00am opposite Downing Street, for 11.30am start. The Rally will be held opposite the Chinese Embassy.
