National Climate March

Date:
6 Dec 08
Venue:
Assemble at Grosvenor Square, London at 12noon A Cycle Protest will start at Lincoln's Inn fields at 10.30am and join the march at Grosvenor Square.
Join us and help shape the decisions of world leaders on climate! The National Climate March 2008 will bring together the issues of Coal, Aviation, Biofuels and Renewable Energy together on the streets of London. The march in London is during the UN climate talks and part of a Global Day of Action on climate, with at least 70 other countries calling for a strong agreement on the same day. These global protests will be absolutely critical this year as decision makers at the UN climate talks won't yet have made up their minds ahead of the Copenhagen climate talks in 2009, where the successor to the Kyoto agreement will be finalised. So this is our chance to influence their decisions. Help us make this so big that international governments will have to take notice! Speakers will include: George Monbiot (Journalist & Author) Caroline Lucas (Leader, Green Party) Michael Meacher (Ex environment minister)
